Terms of Use

Welcome to HairGenie. By downloading, accessing, or using the HairGenie iOS app, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use HairGenie. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use HairGenie only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

2. Your account

HairGenie uses Sign in with Apple for account access. You are responsible for maintaining access to your Apple account and for any activity associated with your HairGenie account.

3. Photos and consent

You may only upload photos of yourself, or photos of another person if you have their clear permission. You are responsible for the photos you upload and for ensuring that your use of those photos complies with applicable laws.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use HairGenie to:

• Create illegal, harmful, harassing, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit, or exploitative content.
• Upload photos of people without their consent.
• Impersonate others or misrepresent AI-generated images as real, unedited photographs.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, overload, disrupt, or abuse the app or its backend services.
• Bypass credits, subscriptions, payment systems, security controls, or usage limits.

5. AI-generated results

HairGenie uses AI to generate hairstyle, color, beard, bald, and makeup previews. AI results are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, imperfect, unrealistic, unflattering, or different from what you expect.

HairGenie is for entertainment and visualization purposes only. Results are not professional salon, medical, cosmetic, dermatology, or personal appearance advice.

6. Credits

Credits are digital consumable items used to generate AI transformations. A standard generation uses credits, and HD generation may use more credits.

Credits are non-refundable after use. If a generation fails due to a service error, we may automatically refund credits where supported by the app. If no clear face is detected, the app may charge a reduced amount for the photo check.

Unused credits remain on your account unless your account is deleted, terminated, or the app is discontinued. We may change credit pricing, credit grants, or generation costs in the future, but changes will not remove credits already granted to your account except as required for fraud prevention, refunds, abuse, or account deletion.

7. Subscriptions and billing

Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.

Any free trial or introductory offer, if available, is provided through Apple and may be limited to eligible users. Subscription credits are granted according to the plan shown at purchase time.

8. Refunds

Payments are handled by Apple. Refund requests for App Store purchases must be submitted to Apple and are subject to Apple's refund policies. We cannot guarantee that Apple will approve a refund request.

9. Ownership and license

HairGenie, including its software, design, branding, logos, and related materials, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the app in accordance with these Terms and Apple's App Store rules.

10. Your content

You retain any rights you have in photos you upload. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights and permissions needed to upload and process those photos.

Subject to these Terms, you may use generated outputs for personal purposes. You may not use outputs in a way that violates another person's rights, misleads others, breaks the law, or violates these Terms.

11. Third-party services

HairGenie relies on third-party services including Apple, Supabase, RevenueCat, PostHog, and OpenAI. Your use of HairGenie may involve these providers, and their own terms and policies may apply.

12. Account deletion

You may delete your account from inside the app or by contacting us. Deleting your account may remove your credits, account records, and app data. Some purchase, security, or legal records may be retained where required or permitted by law.

13. Service availability

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of HairGenie at any time. We do not guarantee that the app will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to HairGenie if you violate these Terms, misuse the app, attempt to bypass payment or credit systems, or create legal, security, or operational risk.

15. Disclaimer of warranties

HairGenie is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that generated results will meet your expectations or be suitable for any particular purpose.

16. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to HairGenie is limited to the amount you paid us for the app or in-app purchases in the 12 months before the claim.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and may notify you in the app. Continued use of HairGenie after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

18. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where HairGenie operates, unless consumer protection laws in your location require otherwise.
